Meet Jessica
Jessica joined Emory University’s Collegiate Black Christians in 2021 as a freshman to find Christian community as a college student. She soon became one of CBC’s freshmen representatives. Attending Intervarsity’s REMIX 2022 conference sparked in her a passion and boldness to see more young people truly understand the Gospel and the depth of the Father’s love for them. She stayed committed to campus ministry throughout college, eventually becoming the chapter president her junior year. CBC was her favorite part of college and she is so grateful for the souls that were saved and the lives that were changed amongst her peers as they came to know Christ.
At Emory, Jessica majored in materials science and engineering, and minored in sociology for premed. By the grace of God, she graduated with highest honors last May. Currently, she works as a researcher in public health and biomedical sciences as she applies to medical school. Her goal is to complete an MD/Masters of Public Health dual degree to become a physician who also impacts health policy to make healthcare more affordable, accessible, and equitable.
Discipleship~
Discipleship? Why discipleship? Because it matters. It matters a lot. Actually, the word "discipleship" is not in the Bible, but we read a lot about disciples in the New Testament. As I allow Christ's life to flow through me, I want it to flow from me into the lives of others. May the flow continue from one person to the next!
I have had the privilege of walking with Jessica, encouraging her as she walks with Christ. I've appreciated the honest conversations we have had regarding the joys and challenges of knowing Jesus. She encourages me. I pray that as she steps into this new phase of life and career, Jesus will remain front and center.
